Breast Cancer Awareness month is in October!
Saturday, September 26, 2009Be aware that Breast Cancer Awareness month is for the whole month of October. I know all of us have been affected from this disease at least one time in our lives, either from a close friend or a loved one. Support our loved ones everyday with a simple hug, kiss, phone call, or do little things for them like their dishes. Remember any prayers can not hurt either. You too can help Avon Products Inc., support this cause & raise the money for Breast Cancer research! Purchase the Avon products in the brochures which have 'Breast Cancer Crusade' in most, if not all the titles of each special product. To do your part, you must especially look through and of course purchase/donate any product(s) you find in the "Avon Foundations" flyer. It also has products Avon sells to support the needs of Domestic Violence; the survivors, the needs of the shelters for the women and their babies to go live in a safe environment. It is about spreading the word and to help companies like Avon Products Inc., to raise money, which brings awareness to help us women from everywhere!

Fighting against breast cancer(REMEMBER OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH) & domestic violence, Avon had their 7th Annual Avon Foundation Awards Celebration in NY.
Saturday, August 01, 2009Leaders in the fight against breast cancer and domestic violence were honored last week at the 7th annual Avon Foundation Awards Celebration, which took place at 583 Park Avenue in New York City.
Among those attending: Paul Harrington, CEO of Reebok International; Michelle Cross Fenty, wife of Washington D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty; Monica Thompson, wife of Georgetown University Basketball Coach John Thompson, Jr; and Andrea Hyde, President of US division, French Connection and daughter of Nina Hyde, longtime fashion editor of The Washington Post, who lost her battle to breast cancer in 1990. A special video message from Avon Foundation Honorary Chairperson Reese Witherspoon was included in the program. |

| During the evening, Jung announced a new milestone: total funds raised through Avon philanthropy worldwide have reached an unprecedented $580 million. The Avon Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, is a leader in the causes of breast cancer and domestic violence, and the Avon Foundation and Avon together are the largest corporate supporter of the breast cancer cause. Key programs are the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, which since 1992 has supported access to care and finding a cure in more than 50 countries, and Avon Speak Out Against Domestic Violence, which was launched in July 2004. The Avon Foundation also supports emergency and disaster relief. |
